Acid Logic Update/’Final Eulogy’ in BRO/5 min video delayed (not really)

July 9, 2008

Goddamn, it’s good to be productive!

The July issue of Acid Logic is up online right now with ‘Quiet Time Or Else’, an essay about my required need for silence and tranquility.  Check it out at:

And Buffalo Rising has seen fit to throw my review up online regarding Charles Bukowski’s final posthumous collection of poems, ‘The Pleasures Of The Damned’.  You can read all about it at:

And I spaced on the date for Think Twice radio’s ‘five minute video’ series.  It wasn’t yesterday.  It’s about two weeks away.  There is honestly so much going on (even without a current book to plug) that it’s hard to keep track and I’m simply hanging on for dear life and loving every single minute of it.  I believe the date is somewhere around July 24th, so you can be sure that I’ll post the link right around then.

Last but not least, the manuscript for Breathing Room Volume I: Free Verse was quietly (and ecstatically) completed Monday night around 10 pm.  I’m ecstatic.  I’m giddy.  I’m clicking my heels inside!  I went out to celebrate last night and felt a hell of a lot like Barton Fink in the USO scene of the film by the same name.  I’m feeling compelled to post a poem over on MySpace sometime today, so if you’re curious, you might want to nose around my profile if you get a chance.

I’ve set a two week deadline for my photographer (Shauna Seiler) for the cover concept and my editor (Carrie Gardner) for the introduction, so the book should be available by month’s end.  Not one to be lazy, I’m going to start working on the second volume in the next few days: Breathing Room Vol. II: rhymes & relics.  As I’ve said before, with the wedding fast approaching, I don’t have the time nor the inclination to promote anything in the next three months, but I’m putting my aces in my places for a gigantic book launch/concert/multiple artist reading on Oct. 25th, my 33rd birthday.  I’m thinking downtown.  I’m thinking artsy.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed.  More news on that event as it develops…
